Sometimes one must do something other than run. For example, go see the President of the United States speak at the University of Colorado! That's just what Paul and I did yesterday. Two things:
- The president is not a punctual man.
- Having the chance to hear Barack Obama speak is worth the wait.
Another take away: we are all in this together; let's all put forth the effort to make the world a better place!

Since the birthday 60k, my training focus has shifted to race preparation. No longer are my days filled with long slow runs. Nope. Now the training calendar is filled with hill repeats, tempo runs and intervals. Ayyeee yieeee yieeeee! I actually have to lift my knees! What next?!
However, this is nowhere near the seismic shift that Boulder has experienced in its weather. Last week shorts became standard running attire, sweat plastered my back and brow during my weekend long run, free time was spent digging in the garden, big hats and sunscreen became the norm. Turn the calendar to April 3rd: snow! 'Tis springtime in the Rockies!
