One of the benefits of regaining fitness is that I can comfortably run a bit further afield. Today we wanted to go to the county fair and I thought running at least part way there would be a fine idea - especially if I made it far enough to catch a favorite view of mine east of town. In my more fit days, I would have run all the way to the fairgrounds (about 18 miles) but I'm nowhere near that fit yet. However, today's fitness level was definitely up to the task of getting far enough east for the view I was longing to see!
PJ's Run was originally created in 2006 to document the training for and tackling of my dream run from Boulder, Colorado to Petoskey, Michigan: 1400 miles, 6 states, and 57 days on the road from June 6 to August 1, 2007. Since then, I continued to post occasionally with a focus on my running endeavors sprinkled with other bits and pieces of life. Fast forward to January, 2016 and my new Quest! To run a trail in every state. More adventures to write about in PJ's Run!

Roads East
First, one of my most favorite wood carvings. The first time I saw it (years ago) I had to look and look again and again to figure out if this fine fox was a carving or for real.
Just past the fox comes a reservoir. I'm a sucker for bodies of water with hills in the background. Cormorants and pelicans added even more magic to the view.
Each day, another little something special.
